This Privacy Policy explains how GAOEX Connect (“we”, “us”, or “the App”)
collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.
GAOEX Connect is a messaging and collaboration app for internship programs
(facilitators and interns).
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:
Account information — When you sign in with Google, we receive your
name, email address, and profile photo from Google, and use them to create and
manage your GAOEX Connect account.
Profile information — Optional profile details you choose to add
(such as bio, status, or a custom avatar).
Messages and content — Messages you send in channels or direct
messages, including text, reactions, mentions, and any files or media you upload
(images, documents, videos, etc.).
Program and membership data — Programs you join or create,
roles/permissions, channel membership, and related settings.
Device and notification data — Push notification tokens and
basic device information needed to deliver notifications when you enable them.
Usage and technical data — Limited technical logs (for example
connection or error information) used to operate and improve the service.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to:
Authenticate you and keep you signed in
Provide real-time messaging, file sharing, search, and program features
Show presence, typing indicators, and unread state where applicable
Send push notifications you have opted into
Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
Comply with legal obligations when required
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as needed to
operate the App, including:
Other users in your programs — Content you post in channels or
group conversations is visible to members with access to those spaces. Direct
messages are visible to the participants in that conversation.
Service providers — Infrastructure providers that host our backend,
database, file storage, authentication (Google Sign-In / Firebase), and push
notifications (Apple Push Notification service), solely to provide the App.
Legal requirements — If required by law, regulation, or valid legal
process.
4. Data storage and retention
Your account and content are stored on our cloud infrastructure so the App can
function across devices. We retain information while your account is active and as
needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account or specific
content by contacting us (see Support). Some information may be retained for a limited
period for security, backup, or legal reasons.
5. Your choices
You can sign out of the App at any time.
You can disable push notifications in iOS Settings.
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by contacting support.
You can revoke Google access to the App from your Google Account permissions.
6. Children’s privacy
GAOEX Connect is intended for use in internship and educational program contexts.
It is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we have collected personal
information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information,
including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and authenticated API access. No method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. International users
The App may be operated using servers and providers located in the United States or
other countries. By using the App, you understand your information may be processed
in those locations.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version
on this page and revise the effective date above.
